Export Format

Stop sending raw exports.

Chat exports are valuable—but they’re messy, unstructured, and risky to share.

Make it client-safe.

Redact PII + keys + client names, then export to Notion/Docs/PDF.

Stay private by default.

Everything runs offline in your browser—your data doesn’t leave your machine.

FAQ

Does my data ever leave my computer?
No. ChatExport Studio runs fully offline in your browser. Your export is processed locally—nothing is uploaded, transmitted, or stored on a server.
Which AI exports are supported?
Currently supported: JSON, TXT, MD, and HTML exports from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. If a provider changes their export structure, the tool may need a small parser update.
What does “Deep Search” do?
Off: searches conversation titles only (fast). On: searches inside message content too (slower on very large exports).
What gets redacted in “Sanitize & Export”?
You can toggle redaction for emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, common API key patterns, and custom words/phrases you add (client names, project names, internal terms).
Can I replace names instead of removing them?
Yes. In Client Names / Terms, use the format Real Name=Alias (e.g., Acme Corp=Client A).
How do I confirm everything sensitive is actually removed?
Use Scan & Preview first. It shows what was detected and warns if potential secrets were found while a rule was turned off. Then export only after the scan looks clean.
What’s the limitation of “offline” redaction?
Offline redaction is pattern + rules based, not “AI understanding.” It can miss sensitive info that doesn’t match a pattern (custom internal terms you didn’t list) or text inside images. Best practice: add client/project keywords to your custom list before exporting.
Is this a subscription?
No. The $39 fee gives you lifetime access.
